Your Neighbor. Your Hometown Hospital.
Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital has been a proud part of Kosciusko County for nearly 50 years. We've grown with the community, expanding services so you can receive care closer to home, family and friends.
Being your neighbor and serving our hometown is about so much more than the services we provide.
It's about caring for our neighbors
The physicians, providers and staff live here and raise their families here. We are neighbors providing a deeply rooted, personalized level of care to those who work, play and live close to us.
It's about improving the health of our community
Helping people get well and live healthier is the foundation of our work. In 2024 alone, patients received health care through 291,200 hospital or clinic encounters with providers. This includes more than 16,300 ER visits, 4,800 surgeries and 400 births.
As a major employer and taxpayer, Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital is a cornerstone of the economic health of our community. We are honored to help and are extremely proud of our hospital's more than $145 million local impact in 2024. More than $24 million in charity and uncompensated care helped our community's most vulnerable, while over $8 million in property taxes helped support local public safety, schools and public infrastructure.
We also understand the importance of extending our reach into the community and are proud to support local organizations that share our goal of enhancing health and wellness in the place we all call home.
It's about investing to meet our community's needs
We continue to provide a level of care beyond what's expected in smaller cities. It's comforting to know you can remain close to loved ones when health issues arise.
Since Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital opened the county's first catheterization lab, or cath lab, more than 1,400 patients have received a cardiac cath, a type of image-guided therapy used to diagnose and treat certain heart conditions.
The cancer care center has delivered extensive services for more than 20 years. Patients requiring frequent testing and treatment – imaging, radiation therapy and surgical services – are able to receive care without unnecessary travel.
In fall 2024, community members and hospital staff celebrated completion of a multi-year $30 million investment that includes 25,700 square feet of new construction and renovation. Improvements include surgical services expansion and updates; renovations to patient rooms and nurses' stations; a redesigned, customer-friendly lobby and updates to the hospital's façade.
Our investment also extends to service excellence. We seek accreditations and certifications reflecting a higher standard of care, inviting external organizations to take a closer look at our services. For example:
- Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital has been accredited as a Chest Pain Center for more than 15 years and is also certified as a Primary Stroke Center.
- Imaging services – breast ultrasound, CT, mammography, MRI and ultrasound – are accredited by the American College of Radiology.
- The certified cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program helps patients with heart-related concerns or chronic respiratory disease.
- The Sleep Disorders Center is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care.
